“He’s the one who seduced me!”
Inukai pointed his finger sharply at Kazusa, whose shoulders trembled.
“He deliberately flooded the place with pheromones to seduce me!”
Appalled by the accusation, Kazusa shook his head vigorously. “Th-that’s not true.”
“I…I took the pill before work…but it… didn’t work…”
Still struggling to catch his breath, his explanation came out in fragments. Zero frowned.
“You were taking pills even at the scene, weren’t you?”
He must have seen Kazusa secretly taking pills on the monitor.
“Do you have any spare pills?”
Kazusa, his hands still trembling, pulled a pill case from his pocket and handed it to Zero. Zero opened the case, took out the last pill, sniffed it, placed it in his mouth, and spat it into his palm after a few seconds.
“It’s fake.”
“Fake?”
Startled by the unexpected conclusion, Kazusa’s eyes widened.
“It looks like the real pill, but the taste is noticeably different. Someone likely replaced it with a placebo. We’ll set that aside for now.”
Saying this, Zero turned back to Inukai.
“Even if it was an Omega pheromone-induced response, Lemur clearly expressed his refusal. You ignored that and tried to bite his neck. A non-consensual ‘marking’ on an Omega is a violation of human rights. The establishment will not hesitate to sue for the human rights violation you inflicted on our cast member.”
“Sue me? I’m an Alpha!” Inukai, his face twisted in anger, raised his voice.
“So what? Do you truly believe that being an Alpha means you can do whatever you want to an Omega?” Zero’s calm retort silenced Inukai.
“Furthermore, you are no longer a VIP or a member here. Your membership has just been revoked.”
“What? How dare you…”
“How dare I?” Zero raised one shoulder dismissively.
"The rules of this establishment are decided by me, the owner. My decisions are absolute."
Zero’s imposing words and his commanding presence made the Alpha, Inukai, visibly shrink back in fear.
“You’re banned. If you don’t want to be sued, don’t show your face here again… Hawk.”
Someone responded with a “Yes” to the call. Kazusa looked in the direction of the voice and saw several faces peeking in through the open door: Hawk, Serval, Crow, Fossa, and Lycaon, all looking on with obvious curiosity. Hawk, his expression cool, stepped into the room and approached them.
“Take him away,” Zero ordered.
Hawk silently pulled Inukai up and escorted him out. Inukai, seemingly defeated by Zero’s overwhelming authority, didn’t resist. The cast members gathered by the door stepped aside, letting Hawk and the subdued Inukai exit the VIP room.
“Are you alright?”
Looking up at the question, Kazusa’s eyes met Zero’s as he stood by the sofa.
“…I’m… fine…”
In truth, he wasn’t alright at all, but the concern in Zero’s expression prompted him to answer this way.
If he rested a bit longer, the effects of the heat would surely settle down. He could ride it out here, then take a real pill once he got back to his room…
Whoever had switched out the pills, and how they’d cover the loss of Inukai—those were things he’d think about only after taking the pill.
(For now, I just… I can’t think about anything…)
“Sensei!”
Unable to hold back any longer, Serval stepped into the room, followed by the other four. But Zero sharply commanded, “Do not come any closer!”
The five immediately flinched, and Zero positioned himself in front of them as if to shield Kazusa, then spoke firmly.
“Lycaon.”
Lycaon, standing on the far left, jolted.
“Look me in the eyes.”
Zero’s tone left no room for defiance as he fixed a piercing gaze on Lycaon, who finally averted his eyes under the intensity of Zero’s stare.
“Last time, I gave you a chance to earn back the trust you lost. I warned you there would be no next time.”
Slowly, Lycaon turned his face forward again, looking up at Zero with a gaze that was almost pleading.
“…Owner… I…”
“But you betrayed me a second time.”
“……”
The icy, final tone left Lycaon breathless.
“Get out.”
Lycaon’s face turned pale at the pronouncement. He stood frozen, his temple twitching, then abruptly turned on his heel and ran toward the door.
“Lycaon!”
Kazusa called out. But Lycaon didn’t stop, disappearing through the automatic door.
(Don’t… don’t let him go.)
“Wait!”
He tried to get up and follow but was hit by a sudden wave of dizziness. Though he managed to stand, his body swayed and his head was spinning. He had barely been keeping the heat under control with sheer willpower, but he had finally reached his limit.
(This is bad… I’m… going to collapse…)
As consciousness began to fade, Kazusa slowly leaned backward, just before falling to the floor. He was caught by someone’s arms. A shock ran through him, and he realised it was Zero holding him up.
As he slowly opened his eyes, he saw a pair of mismatched-coloured eyes looking down at him with concern.
“Ze… ro…”
“Don’t talk. Just rest.”
Without another word, Zero lifted Kazusa in both arms, carrying him horizontally as he began to walk.
In Kazusa’s hazy consciousness, he could hear Zero’s voice issuing instructions through his earpiece.
“Hawk, can you hear me? Another issue has come up, separate from earlier. Close the lounge as soon as the first session ends. Contact the second-session guests and cancel.”
Zero opened the automatic door and stepped outside, turning back to address the cast members still inside the room.
“You heard me. There will be no second session tonight. All of you, return to your posts.”
